Hi! I’m Steve Axtell, Board Certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy and director of the Axtell Hypnotherapy Clinic in Lakewood, Colorado. I have been involved in the mental health field for over 41 years.
The focus of my early career was with initially with adolescents, then in the area of drug and alcohol rehabilitation and education. For the past 20 years, my focus has been on using Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming to help people make rapid changes in unwanted habits, to overcome the blocks that hold them back in life, and to become healthier, happier, and wealthier.
I graduated from Baylor University in 1970 with a degree in Social Work with an emphasis on Counseling. In 1974, I graduated from the U.S. Department of Defense Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation School, and in 1975, from the Rutgers University School of Alcohol Studies. I became certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming in 1994, and did extensive training in Hypnotherapy which lead to Certification with the American Board of Hypnotherapy and the National Guild of Hypnotists in 1997.
As a presenter and teacher, I receive invitations to give workshops and seminars internationally as well as across the U.S. I have trained well over 700 people in the art and science of Hypnosis to date, and I’m regarded as one of the top hypnosis trainers in the country. I am known for lively presentations that are fun, entertaining, and educational. My workshops and seminars are designed to equip students with tools, skills, and confidence. The focus is always on practical application.
In my work with individual clients, I begin with the belief that “no one is ‘broken’ and needs to be “fixed”. It’s simply that you haven’t been taught how to take control of your thoughts and emotions. You have a wealth of internal resources, and access to many external resources…more than enough to live a life that is rich and full. It’s just a matter of having the tools you need to tap into this vast reservoir of ability, capability, confidence and genius that resides within you and without.
I see my role as being more that of an educator than a “therapist”. I teach the skills necessary to overthrow past programming that doesn’t work , and then help you to develop the ability to move forward in the directions that you want to go. It’s really about generating the skills to make choices and to create freedom in your life!
I enjoy working with clients from around the country. Coaching, NLP change-work, and yes – even hypnosis, are powerfully effective over the phone.
I always provide a consultation at no cost, in order to determine if this approach is right for you.
Call for an appointment now. I’ll get you in for a consultation as soon as I can.
